Emma M. Mirles-Jones - Associate
Emma, a senior associate, has a wealth of experiences in tax preparation, commercial banking, real estate development, vendor negotiation, relationship management, and human resources. For more than 8 years as a sole practitioner, she helped clients navigate through the dispute resolution process, including contract negotiation, mediation, settlement, and trial. She also has experience working in tax, real estate, probate, family law and domestic relations, criminal law, and voting rights.
Emma has fond memories of helping her paternal grandmother harvest seeds at the end of every summer from her garden in Struthers, Ohio. While Emma grew up in Youngstown, helping her Grandma with the garden was part of everyday life. She learned how to grow plants, harvest and preserve the bounty, shelling, peeling and storing a year’s supply of beans, corn, garlic, onions, potatoes, herbs, strawberries, pears, and every other vegetable for which space could be found. Her maternal grandparents were tobacco, plantain, and banana farmers in Puerto Rico before they moved to Youngstown to work in the steel mills.
Emma is a member of the Ohio State, Delaware County, and Union County bar associations. She also is an experienced Voting Location Manager. Emma is fluent in Spanish and speaks conversational Russian.
